Moodle MathTran filter

I (Tim Hunt) work at the Open University as a developer on our VLE, which is based on the open source system Moodle. Jonathan Fine gave a talk about MathTran one Friday afternoon, and immediately afterwards, I decided to see how long it would take to integrate MathTran into Moodle, to replace Moodle's existing TeX Notation filter, which uses mimetex. The answer was less than an hour.

The MathTran filter is better than then previous filter because it does the baseline alignment between the maths and the surrounding text.
