Downloading MathTran
To install MathTran you will need a Unix/Linux machine with TeX and Python installed. MathTran is programmed in Python and TeX macros. In addition, for Red Hat and possibly some other distributions, you will need to rebuild TeX to enable interprocess communication (IPC). (If you have Debian, IPC is already enabled.)
You can download MathTran from Sourceforge. The files in this package come from the MathTran project on Sourceforge, and from the TeX daemon (texd) project, also on Sourceforge.
Your TeX installation may not include dvipng. If not, you can download dvipng from its web site or from the or from CTAN TeX archive.
